We currently have a vacancy for a Supervisor Warehousing, within our Commercial Department, Logistics Section. Reporting to the Lae Logistics Senior Supervisor, the successful applicant will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing and dispatches of goods, accurate data is captured and ensuring that the warehouse activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • On an ongoing basis review and maintain written procedures for Warehouse activities.
  • On an ongoing basis ensure that Logistics staffs are provided relevant training and guidance to perform their duties.
  • Conduct written and face to face staff reviews
  • Ensure that all safety and environmental incidents are reported immediately and investigated
  • Ensure the safety procedures are followed and staff trained
  • Review and control the activities of all contractors under Warehouse control
  • Always ensure records are correctly maintained
  • Provide support, information, reports, statistics and other information, recommendations to the Senior Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the inventory is secure and stored correctly
  • Ensure all of the teams competencies are up to date
  • Manage the warehouse teams rosters
  • Manage the utilisation and condition of the warehouse mechanical equipment
  • On an ongoing basis ensure all appropriate company assets are securely and safely stored.
  • Manage the discrepancy process by ensuring timely uploading of discrepancies in Flow centric.
  • Ensure physical cargo in the warehouse reflects that of the Mother Shipments
  • Ensure daily runners call into the warehouse by 8am and goods are dispatched in a timely manner, cut-off dispatch time is 1030hrs
  • Ensure accurate shipments updating, split shipments details are noted accordingly in the notes field and minimize and/or eliminate incorrect dispatches of cargo.
  • Effectively manage in-transit shipment so that they do not go beyond 30days in-transit in Lae.
  • Ensure that receiving officers split shipments and lists are provided to the warehouse team to pack the orange cages and containers according to the list provided. This is to minimize incorrect dispatches of goods.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Year 12 certificate or higher
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience within Mining Industry Supply Chain roles
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience leading warehouse team
  • Must have a valid class 3 and 6 PNG license
  • Computer skills. Basic MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook & IBIS
  • Ability to use Pronto or be quickly trained
  • Ability to delegate and hold people accountable
  • Ability to supervise and train other staff where necessary
  • Able to work without supervision
