SUPERVISOR CRANE MAINTENANCE

Based in Tabubil and reporting to the Superintendent Crane Services, you will be responsible for long and short -term plans for Mobile Cranes, Forklifts Bobcats, and other Ancillary Equipment for Mine, Mill, Tabubil, Bige and Kiunga.
Your role will involve:
- Evaluating maintenance options, equipment, spare parts availability, and manpower to improve the maintenance plans;
- Carrying out reviews and doing maintenance sequencing in collaboration with stakeholders to implement improvement opportunities and maintaining minimal equipment downtime;
- Working in consultation with the Maintenance Planning teams to produce good weekly plans and carry out task as planned;
- Managing long and short-term planning, scheduling, and analysis of maintenance activities for all Mobile cranes, forklift, and other ancillary equipment;
- Building long term Plan, Scheduling, and monitoring all maintenance overhauls in conjunction with the Superintendent Crane Services;
- Working within the parameters of the zero-based budget for each piece of equipment and identifying areas of potential budget impact;
- Reviewing maintenance records to identify areas for improvement;
- Maintaining quality standards in the installation, maintenance, overhaul and general repairs to mechanical & electrical devices for the area;
- Proactively supporting cost effective and efficient, and reliable maintenance strategies;
- Ensuring that the function completes reviews of stock records for spare parts;
- Identifying fast moving items, and making recommendations for adjustments to replacement or reorder and administering order schedule to reduce waiting time;
- Ensuring that cost to company is managed well by monitoring work practices, and controlling associated expenditure; and
- Providing recommendation and implementing appropriate cost measures where necessary.
To be considered, you must possess the following:
- A Mechanical, Electrical or Engineering trade certificate;
- At least 10 years of experience in heavy equipment or load shifting mechanical maintenance or Auto Electrical system in the mining, construction, or resource industry;
- At least 5 years of experience using CMMS applications, SAP preferred;
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings;
- Strong understanding of reliability and condition monitoring practices;
- Must have PNG driving licence class 1,3, & 6;
- Must have good skills with crane & forklift LMI system;
- Proficient in using Microsoft suit applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, or similar computer-based maintenance systems such as SAP; and
- An excellent team player with strong attention to detail coupled with high level of communication and a sense of urgency.
