Summary
The Senior Structural Engineer is pivotal in overseeing and executing the structural design and analysis of various construction projects. Their expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) using advanced tools like Navisworks and Revit plays a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and efficiency of design in complex engineering projects. This position involves significant collaboration with architects and other engineering disciplines, ensuring that all structural designs adhere to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and review structural components of construction projects, ensuring they meet load and safety requirements.
- Utilize BIM tools such as Navisworks and Revit to create detailed structural models and coordinate with other building systems.
- Lead the structural design team in BIM implementation, managing workflows and coordinating with other project teams.
- Develop and enforce BIM best practices and standards in structural design phases.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and BIM technicians.
- Conduct structural inspections and audits during and post-construction phases to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and MEP engineers, to resolve design challenges and optimize project outcomes.
- Prepare and present technical reports and structural analysis findings to stakeholders and project management teams.
Job Requirements
- Proven proficiency in BIM modeling with extensive experience using Navisworks and Revit.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a significant focus on BIM in large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead structural design teams and manage complex BIM projects.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and client interactions.
- Knowledge of current industry standards and regulations related to structural engineering and BIM, such as ISO 19650.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or similar professional accreditation is highly desirable.
