Job Summary

We are currently seeking to recruit a Mobile Maintenance Foreman to join our highly dynamic workforce within our Simberi Operations in Simberi Island in New Ireland Province.

The Role

The Mobile Maintenance Foreman reports to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent To lead and Supervise the Simberi mobile plant workshop for the safe and effective maintenance of the Simberi mobile fleet and work within the site Training Policy to supervise and develop Simberi employees, particularly maintenance fitters.

This is a FIFO position, with a 21/14 roster. Point of Hire available: Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Tabar Islands Group, Alotau, Buka, Goroka, Hoskins, Madang, Popondetta and Wapenamanda.

Technical Accountabilities Ensuring safe work practices, own health and safety and all other workers by identifying hazards and ensuring issues and risks are reported and addressed. Assisting in the development of the Training and Development programs to improve employee skill levels Providing engineering maintenance and management expertise for the training of national employees Promoting safety to employees in all aspects of processing and maintenance Managing controlling maintenance activities, ensuring all follow maintenance processes Immediately reporting and investigating incidents. Raising, assigning and completing actions to prevent incident recurrence Training, mentoring and developing the mobile maintenance team Thorough record keeping Scheduling accountabilities Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the team/crew. People accountabilities Contributing to the development of capability within the team/crew. Contributing to an effective team/crew. Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions. Ensuring outputs and development of the team/crew.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required:

Essential

  • Behaviour consistent with St Barbara Values
  • Heavy vehicle Mechanical or Auto Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Significant relevant supervisory experience
  • Strong ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong communication skills. Including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Ability to work to tight schedules on multiple tasks
  • High level enthusiasm for the work with high performance
  • Frontline leadership certificate
  • Additional training or certificates
