Based in Kiunga and reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective maintenance of mechanical activities within the Kiunga Operations.

Your role will involve:

  • Performing mechanical maintenance, servicing, and repairs on the Thickeners, VPA (Vertical Plate Pressure) Filters, Conveying Systems, Pumps & Valves and Ship loading facility;
  • Delivering mechanical maintenance services in a timely and safe manner and complying to regulatory codes and standards;
  • Executing tasks according to maintenance strategies and work plans to ensure optimal reliability and availability of mobile equipment;
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained as planned, monitor availability, and implement preventive maintenance plans;
  • Assisting in the evaluation and training of team members, review maintenance records, and ensure SAP maintenance modules are utilized;
  • Coordinating execution and analysis of maintenance activities within safety regulations, promoting safety awareness, and actively participate in health and safety programs; and
  • Preparing accurate reports as and when required.

To be considered, you must possess the following:

  • A Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining;
  • At least 5 years of experience working on fixed plant;
  • Experience in Thickeners, Slurry Pumps, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Vavles, Compressors, Dryers, Conveying system & VPA Pressure Filters;
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical maintenance standards relevant to the mining/resources industry;
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge and application of reading and interpreting hydraulic and mechanical drawings and schematics;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding on the application of testing tools such as pressure gauge, micrometres, venires;
  • Hands-on experience in using SAP or similar computer-based maintenance systems;
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, MS Excel, SAP and other computer applications; and
  • High level of communication, attention to detail, good reporting writing skills, and highly organized.
