MECHANICAL FITTER

Based in Bige and reporting to the Supervisor Bige Maintenance, you will be responsible for the efficient maintenance and effective performance of the Bige Mobile Cat equipment, auxiliary machines, and workshop.
Your role will involve:
- Liaising with the team to Conduct quality checks on equipment and raising notifications;
- Leading the heavy equipment fitters, auto electricians, boilermakers, and serviceman to carry out break repairs, schedule servicing and planned component rebuilds reporting to the workshop supervisor for Bige Operations Mobile Maintenance workshop;
- Working with the supervisors and the planning team to ensure all planned parts are delivered and tasks are completed as planned;
- Communicating needs/issues of the mobile equipment maintenance team and assist in reviewing maintenance records to identify areas for improvement;
- Ensuring that the SAP maintenance modules are utilised by team members and that all relevant data is fed back into the system for further analysis;
- Providing proactive support by ensuring that resources are available and correct parts are ordered;
- Promoting health and safety programs targeting zero work-related injuries and illnesses; and
- Proactively encouraging other team members to participate in the continuous improvement program for their area.
To be considered, you must possess the following:
- A grade 12 certificate;
- A Mechanical trade certificate;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining or construction industry;
- Demonstrate in depth knowledge of key mobile maintenance;
- A team player with high level of motivation; and
- An excellent team player with strong attention to detail, high level of communication and a sense of urgency.
