MECHANICAL FITTER

Based in Tabubil and reporting to the Supervisor Service, you will be responsible for performing safe mechanical maintenance, preventative maintenance service, and repairs for the mobile fleets.

Your role will involve:

  • Executing effective short- and long-term preventive maintenance plans, emphasizing the achievement of milestones and adherence to dedicated timeframes, while prioritizing safety, cost, and productivity efficiencies;
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing machine failures and faults through a logical process;
  • Providing mobile equipment availability through reliable and effective maintenance, servicing, and repair tasks;
  • Identifying defects, communicating with the Supervisor, and submitting notifications for required components to ensure timely maintenance repairs;
  • Proactively recommending and participating in activities to minimize risks and optimize opportunities; and
  • Focusing on enhancing maintenance efficiencies for mobile equipment.

To be considered, you must possess the following: 

  • A Mechanical trade certificate;
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance servicing and repairs in the mining, construction, or resource industry;
  • Strong experience with CAT789C, CAT793F, CAT777C and CAT993 Loaders equipment Servicing, including the ability to perform repairs to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards;
  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable in reading and interpreting instructions on Service Sheets
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and understanding on the application of testing tools such as pressure gauge, micrometres, and, verniers;
  • Proficient in using Microsoft suit applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, or similar computer-based maintenance systems such as SAP; and
  • An excellent team player with strong attention to detail coupled with high level of communication and a sense of urgency.
