We are seeking to recruit a Supervisor Boilermaker for our Fired Plant Maintenance – Mechanical Department. Reporting to the Mechanical Superintendent of Processing & Fabrication, the successful applicant will mainly be responsible for supervising a small crew of Boilermaker tradesmen within the Processing Maintenance Department on rotating shifts.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team to complete maintenance and repair tasks in a timely manner.
  • Control workflow to fully utilize equipment under repair and the boilermaker crew.
  • Coach and manage compliance with site standard operating procedures and practices.
  • Be accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Boilermaker Workshop.
  • Attend planning meetings for weekly schedules and shutdowns.
  • Utilize and champion Harmony MOG’s safety procedures.
  • Be capable of locating, reading, and understanding technical drawings, repair procedures, technical data, and MSDS Data Sheets.
  • Perform maintenance on crushing, conveying, flotation, and pumping equipment.
  • Maintain all tools and ensure proper storage when not in use.
  • Provide accurate and concise written feedback on work orders, including details of hours worked, work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
  • Participate in the development of employee training plans.
  • Provide informative handovers to supervisors or other tradespeople.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Be a PNG NATTB certified Boilermaker tradesman.
  • Have five or more years of experience in the mining, construction, or heavy industry.
  • Have broad experience in all facets of crushing, conveying, grinding, and processing equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Have experience with Pronto work management systems.
  • Demonstrate supervisory abilities.
  • Possess basic computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.
  • Have strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Be well-developed in coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrate a mature approach and a strong attitude toward discipline.
  • Exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Possess sound written and oral communication skills in English and Tok Pisin.
  • Holding a current and valid PNG Class 3 driver’s license is an advantage.
