As a Technical Specialist, your responsibilities include providing expertise and support in the maintenance, repair, and operation of heavy equipment such as Dozers, Graders, Loaders, and Light Vehicles, specializing in Mobile Auto Electrical work.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on Dozers, Graders, Loaders, Light Vehicles, and other related equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical systems, including Mobile Auto Electrical work
  • Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in machinery maintenance and electrical diagnostics
  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and other team members
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors for sourcing spare parts and components
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the PJV Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures

Requirements:

  • NATTB L1, L2 & L3 Trade Certificates attained through a Trade Testing System or NATTB Tradesman Certificate attained through an apprenticeship program
  • Previous post tradesman experience as a Technical Specialist or similar role, with a focus on Dozers, Graders, Loaders, Light Vehicles, and Mobile Auto Electrical work
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical issues and using relevant diagnostic tools
  • Strong understanding of Auto Electrical systems in mobile equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead others effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary

Mobilization Requirement 

  • This position is open to PNG Citizens Only 
  • Rotation is FIFO, 28 days on and 14 days off
  • Adhere to Covid19 Protocols 
  • Valid and current PNG Driving License is desirable 
  • Must Have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
