CRANE OPERATOR

Based in Tabubil and reporting to the Supervisor Crane Operations, you will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day assigned Crane Operator and rigging duties to achieve consistently high standards of safety, availability and reliability.
Your role will involve:
- Ensuring high safety standards, equipment reliability, and effective communication with work groups including equipment monitoring and reporting maintenance issues;
- Conducting daily inspections of cranes and rigging equipment to ensure safety and serviceability;
- Maintaining compliance with safety standards during crane operations, including SWL and operating guidelines;
- Preparing non-critical and critical lift plans, ensuring proper planning and documentation for all lifts;
- Collaborating with Supervisors and other sections to develop effective working relationships;
- Assisting in the planning and scheduling of day-to-day and weekly crane operations including shutdowns; and
- Maintaining a strong culture of health and safety within the team, targeting zero harm from work-related injuries and illnesses.
To be considered, you must possess the following:
- A minimum Grade 12 certificate;
- Mobile Crane Open (CO) Operators Permit;
- Basic Rigger Certification; 20t forklift permit / container handling forklift; Vehicle Loading Crane Permit;
- Experience with Large Liebherr All Terrain Cranes & Clam Shell Bucket Operation;
- 5+ years’ experience in a mining, oil & gas, or construction environment;
- High level of understanding of crane and equipment preventative maintenance;
- Experience with plant and equipment shutdowns, operation of large crawler cranes and all-terrain cranes;
- Commitment to excellence in safety and good understanding of safe work procedures relevant to mobile lifting equipment; and
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; attention to detail in planning.
