Based in Tabubil and reporting to the Supervisor of Contracts Administration, you will be responsible for engaging and managing contractors to adhere to approved processes.

The role involves:

  • Ensuring proper processes are adhered to, including issuing approaches to the market, identifying cost reduction opportunities for OTML, negotiating, establishing contracts that consider risks, and managing and closing out contracts;
  • Ensuring that tendering documentation complies with both OTML and PNG Government standards;
  • Ensuring effective services supplier negotiations across price, terms and conditions with the use of clear OTML approved guidelines;
  • Issuing tenders for specific key services as defined by Supervisor Contracts Administration;
  • Displaying initiative, judgment, and a degree of independence in engaging and managing contractors; and
  • Taking appropriate action to ensure all required systems and resources are in place and all service contracts established meet the approved standards.

To be considered, you must possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or Law;
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role with a resource company;
  • Substantial experience and knowledge in services procurement, policies and procedures, and contracts management;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, accurate business, and financial judgment;
  • Ability to communicate strategic intent and implement appropriate plans;
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, negotiation skills; and
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of services procurement systems (ERP/Ellipse/SAP Ariba) is desirable.
