Main Purpose:

Perform as project’s engineer for major capital projects. All projects will be completed in full compliance with applicable company standards of safety, with established schedule, at minimum cost and, assuring best possible quality of material and workmanship

Key Responsibilities:

Safety, Reliability Responsibilities:

  • Major capital project’s development/ execution. Follow-up of development of projects.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements and follow-up adequate closure of HAZOP items and miscellaneous small OPEX projects.
  • Assure that all capital projects execution activities are carried out without safety, industrial hygiene and environmental incidents.
  • Execute the projects keeping cost within budget, meeting the established schedule and achieving best possible quality of materials and workmanship. Provide effective field supervision to own and contract personnel working in projects execution. Prepare periodic reports for all projects.
  • Assure compliance with Puma corporate guidelines during the development, commissioning and training phases of projects development and construction.
  • Maintain good working relationships with outside engineering resources
  • Managing and monitoring all assigned projects.
  • Ensuring all deadlines and budgetary requirements are met. Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation.
  • Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential engineering projects and studies.
  • Participate in meetings as active member of various refinery committees/miscellaneous other, as required.
  • Comply with company requirements and systems relating to SAPS, HSEC & Quality and other company policies.

Department personnel management:

  • Ensure contracts are performed according to company specifications

Controls and budget:

  • Assure compliance with controls related mostly with CAPEX expenditure.
  • Also, compliance with payments and Opex spent associated to capital investments.

Experience:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical, process, or engineering tasks.
  • Management, Projects & Tenders, Construction Project & Engineering Design, and Customer Service.
  • Project & Maintenance experience desirable
  • Current IEPNG Membership
