he New Porgera Limited (NPL) now has a vacancy for qualified and experienced individuals in the following position of Supervisor – Planning – Mobile Equipment Maintenance. Reporting to the section superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities related to mobile equipment, ensuring that all operations are executed efficiently and effectively to maximize equipment availability.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with technical expertise, project management and leadership skills and appetite for continuous improvement 
  • Prior industry recognized safety training highly desirable
  • Prepared to work to flexible company roster and to varied working hours as required to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a remote and challenging environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans for mobile equipment, ensuring alignment with operational requirements
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure the timely execution of scheduled maintenance activities
  • Ensure that maintenance schedules are optimized to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability
  • Monitor and review maintenance schedules and performance, making adjustments as necessary to optimize equipment uptime
  • Manage a team of maintenance planners and provide leadership and guidance to ensure team objectives are met
  • Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and practice
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards in all maintenance planning activities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management
  • Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & Procedures.

Mobilization Requirement 

  • This position is open to PNG Nationals
  • The roster is 28 days on and 14 days off
  • Adhere to Covid19 Protocols 
  • Must Have an up-to-date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
